This short video is called “My Dad With Our Dog” — which makes it sound like the most generic YouTube clip ever. And, devoid of context, it is pretty generic. But with a few short sentences of backstory, it becomes a feelings-generating powerhouse.
“My father has Alzheimers,” explains uploader Lisa Abeyta. “He has lost almost all of his speech. This is what happens when he is with our dog.”
Beautiful. Also beautiful: the video’s closing sentiment, which will test the bandwidth of your tear ducts. Dogs are the best. Dads are the best. Whoever is juggling dusty onions in this room is the worst.
